This is a very lovely shot and my favorite of the series you posted. They are a handsome couple and this makes a very nice and loving holiday scene. Their poses are relaxed and their smiles are warm and inviting. Very much a 'welcome to our home' feel. The shot in front of the fireplace makes a classic holiday shot... instant Christmas card The lighting is bright and clean, but not harsh. I like the slant of the shot, which you can see with the baseboard and the fire, and it's enhanced by the built-in slant of the fireplace. Since the fireplace is built slanted perhaps squaring up the shot just a little and putting say two glasses of wine in the scene. The wine in the glasses would provide a 'level' so the viewer would know it's the fireplace that's slanted (making it more of a cool and unique feature of the shot) and not the scene itself. That's just a suggestion though as I like the slant of the shot overall.

The only thing I'd change is pull back on the shot. It's a bit cramped on the right edge, almost threatening to have some of Michael cut out of the scene. Pulling back so there's an equal amount of empty space from the edge to Michael's side on the right and from the edge to Whitney's foot on the left would give a nice frame to it and kind of center the whole thing. Other than that this shot is wonderfully done... something you, Michael, and Whitney can be proud of
